Title of Chair

"THE HARPIST"

I have decided to take a lonely old chair from the Thrift Store and turn it into a

"Work of Art".

This lovely chair with great bones and beautiful wood needed some T.L.C.

My concept was to make an artful chair with a music room, conservatory feel.

The wooden part of the chair represents the "frame"

for the hand painted canvas featured on the seat.

She is The Harpist.

I painted a medieval feeling pattern with the harpist in the center.

It is stretched on canvas and sealed with supple UV protecting varnish.

I have wood burned a harp on the back of the chair which I also repaired.

I have hand painted and filigreed the chair.

I polished it up afterwards with a furnuture paste wax.

The Harpist is definitely more of an art piece than functioning chair,

However it can be cleaned easily and may be sat on!
